A Healthier Nigeria and America in a Healthier World

The Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1995 for educational, scientific, and charitable purposes. We represent a dynamic community of over 8,000 physicians, dentists, and allied health professionals of Nigerian birth, heritage, or connection, practicing across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.

The ANPA New Jersey Chapter is one of the oldest and most vibrant chapters in the ANPA network. Our members span a wide range of medical specialties and include both U.S.-trained and internationally trained physicians, foreign medical graduates, and associate members in allied health professions.

We are deeply committed to community service, mentorship, and professional development. Our members actively support American and international medical graduates by providing mentorship, clinical experience opportunities, and strong letters of recommendation to help them navigate the residency process.

Collaboration is at the heart of our mission. We maintain a robust referral network, connecting patients with trusted specialists in both the United States and Nigeria. We stand with one another during times of illness, bereavement, or personal hardship, and we celebrate our shared cultural heritage during joyful milestones and gatherings.

Our chapter also offers dynamic educational programs and CME-accredited sessions that promote continuous learning and keep our members abreast of advancements across medical disciplines.

Our Broader Mission

ANPA provides a powerful platform for medical and scientific exchange on health issues affecting people of Nigerian descent in the diaspora and on the African continent. Through advocacy, capacity building, and medical outreach, we are committed to advancing global health equity.

Together, we are building a healthier Nigeria and America in a healthier world.
